Imphal, Manipur: State Drugs Licensing and Controlling Authority, Directorate of Health Services Manipur has suspended the licences of SS Enterprises, B.T. Road, Rupmahal Tank, Imphal West and SS Pharmacy, Lilong Bazar, Thoubal district over supplying of one unauthorized drug Kaya-DSR which went viral on social media.

Following the viral picture, state drug controller, Directorate of Health Services Manipur, N. Rimotkumar Meetei instructed all concerned, to check and verify the very capsule strip so called Kaya -DSR of Kaya Pharma, Lilong Ushoipokpi, Thoubal district.

He sought assistance in locating the item and directed that it not be sold or distributed, and that whoever possessed it be held for further action in accordance with the act.

Consequent upon the findings during the investigation process of one unauthorized drug Kaya-DSR (Rabeprazole IP20mg and Dompiridone IP 30mg) case the state drug controller issued an order to suspend the licences of SS Enterprises and SS Pharmacy in exercise of the powers under Rule 66 (1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945.

The order also instructed to close down their premises with immediate effect until further orders.

Prameshwar Prasad of Rupmahal Tank is the proprietor of SS Enterprises and Md. Kabir Ahamad Shah of Lilong Ushoipokpi, Thoubal.

The medicine is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease by relieving the symptoms of acidity such as heartburn, stomach pain, or irritation.
